EDMONTON, Alta., September 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – Today, the President of Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Dhillon to the Board, effective October 1, 2022.

Situated at Calgary, AB, Mr. Dhillon is an experienced senior executive with a long career in the real estate and financial services industries. As President and CEO of Mainstreet Equity Corp (MEQ), he spent 22 years delivering consistent double-digit year-over-year returns through continuous organic growth for MEQ investors. Mr. Dhillon is also the owner of National Payments, a merchant processing business endorsed by Visa and MasterCard in the financial services industry.
In addition, Mr. Dhillon was appointed Officer of the Order of Canada in 2021 for his achievements in business and for his commitment to philanthropy and higher education, was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, 2012 for his dedication and achievements in his work and his community, and served as Honorary Consul General of Belize for Canada since 1999.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontarioan honorary doctorate in law University of Lethbridge2019, and an Honorary Doctorate of Commerce from Lakehead University2017.
The two Mr. Roger Renaud and dr. Kenneth Kroner were reappointed to the Board after their terms expired. The appointment of Mr. Bob Dhillon fills the position left vacant by Mr. Bob Kelly who will leave the board September 30, 2022.

All directors are appointed to the Board by the Lieutenant Governor in Council and are fully independent of management.
