Piper Sandler’s tech investment banking group achieves record year and grows further with addition of Joe Morgan and Jack Robbins


MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Piper Sandler Companies (NYSE: PIPR), a leading investment bank is pleased to report a record year for the technology investment banking group with strong results driven by strong M&A advisory and capital markets operations equity. To further capitalize on the momentum of our business, Piper Sandler is proud to announce the addition of Managing Director, Joe Morgan, and Director, Jack Robbins. The team will report to Steven Schmidt, Head of Technology Investment Banking, and will be based in Piper Sandler’s Orange County office.

Joe Morgan was previously Co-Head of Technology Investment Banking at DA Davidson. During his time at DA Davidson, he implemented the company’s technology growth initiative by increasing headcount and revenue by more than five and ten times respectively. Additionally, at Davidson, Morgan has completed more than 60 M&A and capital raising engagements for public and private companies worth nearly $26 billion. Morgan has a long-standing focus and passion for vertical market software, and it will focus on serving its customers in this important segment. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley.

Jack Robbins has been a technology banker for nearly a decade and was most recently a principal at DA Davidson in Orange County, where he worked closely with Joe on a range of vertical software mandates. Prior to DA Davidson, Robbins spent time at CriticalPoint Partners and Goldman Sachs’ TMT Group. Prior to his banking career, Robbins spent four years in the Marine Corps as an infantry officer. Robbins earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Arizona and a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia.
